Work week and weekend

Most workplaces in Kuwait run from Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday as the weekend. Some private employers use different schedules, so always check your contract and ask about shifts.

Fridays

Friday is the quietest morning of the week. Many shops open later in the day around the midday prayer, and families go out in the evening. Do not plan a government errand or a bank visit for a Friday.

Thursday evening and Saturday

Thursday evening is when malls, restaurants and roads get busiest because the weekend begins. Book restaurants ahead and leave extra travel time. Saturday is a common day for family visits and groceries.

Using the week well

Put paperwork and appointments on Sunday to Wednesday mornings. Many government and bank services can be completed online or by app, which reduces visits. Plan your salary-day tasks around bank hours.
